• India Potteries Limited was incorporated in 1958 and it is registered at Kolkata as unlisted Public Limited Company.
• Initially, the objective was to produce items of Ceramic wares to meet the customers' demand preferring better quality products. IPL withstood the challenge in facing the then highly competitive market under the grip of foreign products.
• IPL, however earned a fame in the market within a short span of time for its various high quality products which it still continues to enjoy.
• During late seventies, the company could foresee the future spurt in the demand of H.T. & L.T. Electro-porcelain Insulators and started producing the same. Within a few years, it created an annual installed capacity of 3600 M.T.
• India Potteries Limited has its in-house R&D centre along with the modern plant & machinery which includes fully ceramic fiber lined oil fired Tunnel & Shuttle kilns to ensure complete vitrification and best surface glaze reflectance characteristics of each insulator for use in overhead transmission and distribution lines, sub-station installation and telecommunication network to meet the specific requirement of customer of HV & Extra HV insulators. At every stage of production, from raw materials to finished goods, IPL has prudently followed the policy of ensuring strict quality assurance and product upgradation with the help of a team of highly qualified technocrates.
